Summer Haul With YoyBuy
Last weekend a really huge package arrived on my doorstep, containing some additions to my current wardrobe. I have to apologize upfront; This package contained not only Lolita items.
If you are interested in the haul video, you can find it on my YouTube and here:
YoYBuy & TaoBao
I will try and make a recommendation post later on, focusing on the shops I like to buy from and look at, both Lolita & Otome Kei.
First off: TaoBao is the actual website, which is a bit like the chinese version of ebay or amazon. They sell a lot of items first hand, which means directly from the factory or independent small business. I sometimes come across sellers that are making items on order which means it takes some days or even weeks for them to finish them before shipping.
If you don't live in China you cannot order from TaoBao directly. Even if you are fluent in chinese. Even if you are willing to pay extra. You have to sign up for a shopping service, that's some people who are going to buy it for you, take it to their warehouse and ship it from there. Depending on which shopping service you use, there is a fee for this, however it is quite low.
Buying more items from one shop can save you on shipping costs and fees, and buying regularly can make you a VIP, which means your order will be handled as priority and also the fees for buying will not be added to your order anymore.
There are several shopping services out there, including YoyBuy, TaoBao Spree and Aliexpress, I have bought with all three of these and still recommend YoyBuy.
The service is all in English, so they contact the individual sellers for you, and the communication is really good. If you have to wait or pre-pay a seller you get the chance to cancel at any time, and get your money refunded.
Sadly you can't return anything bought with a shopping service, so keep that in mind.
However all items I got so far were very cheap, most even under $10, so it's not that big of a loss.
I hope I could help some of you to get some inspirations for your new coordinates and I am looking forward to more video suggestions by you!
